Understanding WPF

Introduction

The Windows Presentation Foundation is Microsoft's answer to the lame age old winforms layout which is had for ages with windows based application development, If you ever tried to develop windows application in .Net 1.0 or 2.0 you probably know what pain it took to make your applications look slightly better and appealing to the user. Except that you end up using alot of images in your application instead of the acutal controls and in turn ending up writing more un-necessary code. Simply put ,WPF takes care of all your worries about making your application look Kick ass without much efforts (well, don't expect it to do all the work itself, you still will need to do some coding)
With WPF you can customize the looks and behavior of almost all the controls available in WPF using what is called Styles and Templates (Control Templates)  in WPF Lingo (There are endless number of things you could learn in WPF).
